This year Troop 19 will actively be involved in celebrating the BSA 100 Year Celebration.  Mr. Lorenzo will be the coordinator of activities and will be sending out reminder notices of upcoming events.  Please note on the calendar that the Troop will be in several parades as part of the celebration.

To the left is a very cool patch that each Boy Scout, Venture and Leader will receive and of course we have requirements to be completed that will earn ribbons that are placed on the patch.

To earn these individual ribbons each scout will complete three of five requirements, some of these we will complete as a troop and others will be completed individually. When each ribbon requirements has been completed, you must notify Mr. Lorenzo to receive credit.  Click here to see all of the requirements provided by the BSA.

The next activity that will count towards this:

KLONDIKE DERBY

The Klondike Derby will be February 26 - 28 at Camp Grimes. Click here is the informational flyer to sign up.

SCOUTING FOR FOOD

Across the country, on February 6th, Scouts and adult leaders will collect bags of food for their local community food banks. Being one of the largest Troops in Mecklenburg County Council, just imagine the dramatic impact we can make on and for the local community.

We had great participation in this project last year. This year is the time for us to re-dedicate ourselves to the service of our community.

Saturday, February 6th, groups will go door to door between 9:30 am & 2:00 pm asking for donations of canned or packaged non-perishable food. This should only take 4 1/2 hours. we will be working in the Highland Creek neighborhood. We are setting a goal of 3,000 cans. We have over 80 scouts and 25 leaders plus many active parents which add up to an army. Please remember that community service is an integral part to your advancement in rank.

We will meet at 9:00 am in the HPC church parking lot and ride the bus over to Highland Creek. Bring a bag lunch. If you have questions please contact Mr. Redies.

Please help make it a successful one. Remember, we are selling the Scouting spirit so put on your uniform and smile.
